The Browne Review into the funding of Higher Education will be published in October and is widely expected to recommend an increase in tuition fees and extend the period when graduates repay a contribution to the costs of their higher education.

 

Continuing lack of quality accommodation supply:

 

  • University provision only accommodates approximately 27% of students living away from home
  • Private landlords are constrained by the UK’s housing shortage and must adhere to more stringent standards and a licensing regime under the 2004 Housing Act
