29 Aug 2008 - UNITE Acquires New Strategic Site In Islington
The UNITE Group plc, the UK’s largest manager of branded student accommodation, announces that it has exchanged contracts for the acquisition of James Leicester Hall in Islington, from London Metropolitan University. James Leicester Hall is currently obsolete and UNITE will undertake a full redevelopment of the site, which on completion will have a value of circa £93 million.
26 Aug 2008 - Planning Approval For Two Further London Schemes
UNITE Group, the UK’s largest manager of branded student accommodation, announces that it has secured planning approval on two more London sites, which will deliver a further 355 beds for students. UNITE Group will invest a total of £57.5 million in the development of the two sites, located at 556 Holloway Road and Lavington Street, SE1, as it continues to strengthen its presence in the key London market.
22 Aug 2008 - UNITE Group Announces £178.6 Million Asset Sales
UNITE Group plc, the UK's largest manager of branded student accommodation, today announces that is has exchanged contracts, unconditionally, on the sale of eleven operational direct let assets for a total cash consideration of £178.6 million, 2.8% above the assets’ December 2007 valuations. The asset sales have been made in two separate transactions to different purchasers and have been made both on UNITE Group's own behalf and on behalf of the UNITE UK Student Accommodation Fund ("USAF").
