Unite Students wins third Student Accommodation Operator of the Year Award – 12 May 2016

Bristol based Unite Students, the UK’s largest provider of purpose-built student accommodation, scooped the Student Accommodation Operator of the Year 2016 award at the national RESI Awards last night (11 May) in London. 

It is the third time the company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, has won the award and it retains the title from 2015.

The RESI awards are described as the Oscars of the residential property world and were established four years ago by Property Week. The criteria for winning the award included ideas and innovations that set Unite apart from the crowd, a strong financial performance and a real understanding of customer requirements.

Richard Smith, who is currently Managing Director of Operations at Unite Students but due to take over as CEO on 1 July, said: “I am delighted that we have won this award which is thanks to the hard work of all of our 1,250 employees.  

“Through our 25 years of experience of working with students, we know that supportive accommodation has an enormous impact on success. In the coming academic year we are looking forward to welcoming almost 50,000 students into our buildings. We consider it an enormous privilege to be trusted by many as their first home away from home as they take their initial steps into the wider world.’
